Nature’s PRIME® Poppers Chile Verde

Yields4 Servings

 4 ½ cups Nature's Meat™ Poppers (Nature's PRIME Poppers cooked according to package directions)
 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
 ½ Yellow onion - sliced into strips
 ½ Red bell pepper - sliced into strips
 ½ Green bell pepper - sliced into strips
 3 cups Salsa Verde - favorite retail brand
 ½ tsp Ground Cumin
 1 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
 12 Corn Tortillas
 6 Lime Wedges

In a large sauté pan or sauce pot placed over medium high heat and add oil. Heat to hot, but not smoking.


Add onion and bell pepper. Stir to coat with oil. Cook until slightly soft and lightly colored. Remove from pan and hold warm. Place pan or pot back over medium heat.


Add salsa verde. Stir in cumin and pepper flakes, heat until bubbling.


Add Nature's Poppers and blend well. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.


Warm tortillas on one side in dry sauté pan until soft, about 15 seconds. Turn and heat additional 15 seconds.


To serve: Portion poppers, vegetables and tortillas on plates. Garnish with lime wedge.
